Nagarlok: Quarterly Journal of Urban AffairsSummary: Electronic waste (E-waste) is a rapidly growing waste stream globally, with adverse environmental and health effects, if not managed properly. Mangaluru, a growing city in India, has seen a significant increase in the generation of E-waste in recent years due to increased consumerism and the penetration of electronic devices in households. However, the proper management of E-waste in Mangaluru has been a concern, and there is a lack of awareness among consumers about its proper disposal. This paper aims to assess the knowledge and practices of E-waste management among consumers in Mangaluru City. The results showed that the majority of the respondents were aware of the adverse environmental and health effects of E-waste, but their knowledge about the proper disposal of E-waste was limited. Most of the respondents disposed the E-waste with regular household waste or in landfills, indicating a lack of awareness. The findings of this study emphasise the need for consumer awareness and their education about E-waste management in Mangaluru.Reproduced . Reproduced
