Debates surrounding the complexities of human–wildlife conflict often persist, largely due to the divide between the environmentalist perception of conservation and the experiences of farmers confronting wildlife-related threats. This study demonstrates that the precarious social and economic circumstances of the farmers and local communities directly affected by the inter-species conflict undermine the skewed discourse promoting coexistence between humans and wildlife. – Reproduced
