India, a welfare state, has initiated and implemented a plethora of social safety nets for its citizens. However, despite a lot of governance efforts and strategies, many Indian people are still deprived of basic services and requirements. With pertaining to such issue, the paper tries to critically examine the evolving strategies of good governance in India by focusing on emerging issues and challenges in the social security realm.
