The success of social security programs hinges on the presence of effective governance. As such, international organizations like the International Social Security Association have underscored the pivotal role of good governance in social security. India, a welfare state, has initiated and implemented a plethora of social safety nets for its citizens. However, despite a lot of governance efforts and strategies, many Indian people are still deprived of basic services and requirements. With pertaining to such issue, the paper tries to critically examine the evolving strategies of good governance in India by focusing on emerging issues and challenges in the social security realm. The need of the hour for India is to focus more on robust governance strategies to achieve the desired outcome in social security programs.- Reproduced
