This article discusses the predictions made by various authors and calls for a shift in visualising the transformation of the world order based on external factors and subjectivity to one based on the inherent and fundamental dynamics of capitalism. At the present juncture of the capitalist world system, the left should focus on the emerging class struggle for the transcendence of capitalism and the building of socialism. –Reproduced
