It has come to include several players and stakeholders. In the era of globalisation, market economy and deregulation, etc., corporate sector, civil society and non-governmental organisations are other major players in this arena besides the government. Since the developmental activities are aimed to deliver for various core areas, viz., economy, industry, society and social well-being, government and administration alone cannot fulfil expectations of this nature and magnitude. - Reproduced.
