As a consequences, identities of people are manipulated and efforts are made to define the country's identity in uniformity than diversity. The only way to make democracy participative in the country is through recourse to multiculturalism in politics and governance by providing representation to all groups. The present system of legislative representation cannot provide representation to a religious minority. Once elected, these representatives of the community become representatives of the culture advocated by the party than the culture they hail from. Separate electorates too are not a solution to the issue. The only way of providing representation to all groups and communities is by using the Proportional Representation. - Reproduced.
