It not only brings out the best in the human personality, but also can be the medium of peace and progress of a nation. Educational system of any given society needs regular changes and reforms in the light of the emerging issues, concerns and challenges. In India, there have been concerted efforts at educational reforms many a time since Independence which have been implemented with varying degrees of success. Recently, Mizoram, with second highest literacy rate in India, has set up a State Education Reforms Commission which has come out with its report. Its recommendations are relevant for other states of India too. - Reproduced.
