India is not only the largest democracy in the world but also the fastest growing economy. That is why it has attained a specific position and role in international arena. However, the constraints faced by the Indian Republic cannot be overlooked, particularly due to prevailing malgovernance and corruption. Accordingly, the demand and need of RTI took place and it became instrumental in addressing above miseries on one hand and achieving the goals of good governance on the other. The present article focuses on a correlation between the RTI Act and good governance. How the RTI Act has paved the way for good governance and what are the main constraints and how can these be overcome so that the RTI can desirably contribute to good governance and quality democracy? - Reproduced.
