New economic policy and Indian federalism

The new economic policy of government may bring a significant change in the pattern of the country's centre-state relations. The article analyses the implications of a major segment of the new reforms, that is, the new industrial policy, for intergovernmental relations and emphasises the need for restructuring of such relations, so that the reforms fructify. There is need for effective resources use and management from the perspective of sustainable development and accountable government
