With his critical observations on degenerating scenario of governance in India, the author examines the rationale of India choosing the British parliamentary model and its suitability, the need for changing our constitution and its basic aims. He then elaborates on an action plan and a blueprint of reforms envisaging better quality leaders, decentralised power with smaller states, disciplined politicians and political parties, and enforcing principles of good governance. He concludes on an optimistic note pinning hopes on new government's National Agenda of Governance. - Reproduced
