The end of the cold war as a result of the disintegration of USSR and the collapse of the Soviet model in Eastern Europe along with the ravage of the planet earth uninterruptedly has brought into sharp focus some of the basic issues and problems centering around Human Rights. Basic human rights envolved in the environmental debate between the North and South now doesn't take it for granted that the US and its western allies are the true torch bearers of human rights.
