Individual performance dimensions and total quality work culture - 1999 - p.135-42

The concept of total quality human resource poses a basic question to all management practitioners - to what extent are the efficiency and quality concepts consistent with the survival, growth and improved development of the human resource, not just the organisations? It's concern lies in the overall development of the individual performance dimensions which have direct impact on the total quality work environment. This paper highlights the importance of aligning the total quality business and individual performance to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the modern business houses. An attempt has been made to discuss the work culture implications of the models designed by various management philosophers. Discussion is centered around the fact that the esteem for human resources is the fundamental positive regard for ourselves and for one another as people that grounds personal commitment to quality performance. The article focuses on different dimensions of the characteristics and work culture implications in the present business environment and also suggests some of the action guidelines for managing different personality types. - Reproduced
