Bhardwaj, H.R.

Parliamentary privilege and corruption in public life - 1999 - p.675-683. - Oct-Dec

Starting off with a survey of contributions of UK (the country on which our parliamentary system is broadly patterned) on checking corruption in public life, the author focuses on parliamentary privileges and law of corruption. Drawing from issues thrown up in decisions taken in certain recent cases in UK, Australia and India (Narasimha Rao M.P. Bribery case), particularly identifying weaknesses in law in India, the author analytically examines the corrective measures that are needed and prescribes a package of action plan in this direction. - Reproduced
