With focus on role of Malaysian Civil Services in the rapid economic development of Malaysia in the context of current economic reforms, the author presents significant achievements in this regard. Then, discussing lessons which their counterpart, i.e., Indian civil services, can possibly learn, the author identifies the factors which have hindered Indian civil services' efforts in this direction, and prescribes certain measures which need to be taken up urgently.
