Raising competence of Indian administrators - Role of IT training - 2000 - p.375-385. - Jul-Sep

In view of high-speed global adoption of e-governance, the author focuses on quicker application of IT in public administration in India through imparting high-quality training to administrators in IT. While visualising fully the role of awareness enhancement and literacy on IT, she highlights in some detail the importance of IT training, keeping in view training needs of administrators. She then takes up for discussion government policies on IT training and inadequacies of existing arrangement. She, therefore, suggests newer approaches and modes of IT training to realise meaningful impact of IT on governance. She concludes with a package of suggestions in this regard. - Reproduced
