This was when the monarchy, the court, the palaces were all established on a grand scale. But the process of establishing Mughal forms - including its practices, institutions, cities, imperial splendour - occurred over a period of time. By the latter half of Akbar's reign, the empire had become increasingly well rooted and by then had come to be presented as sacred.
