A number of key concepts relevant for such a sociology are elaborated: `gamekeeping', networks, fluids, scapes, flows, complexity and iteration. The article concludes by suggesting that a `global civil society' might constitute the social base of a sociology of mobilities as we move into the twenty-first century. - Reproduced aSociology aBritish Journal of Sociology
