<br/><br/> The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was enacted in 2012 to address the increasing rate of crimes against children across the country. Police plays one of the major roles in the implementation of the Act. This paper has made an attempt to examine whether the mandates prescribed in the POCSO Act to the police have been followed diligently. The examination has been done with the help of content analysis of news articles published nationally between 2012 and 2018 regarding child sexual abuse. – Reproduced
