The Indian Police Journal 67(4), Oct-Dec, 2020: p.137-145 Some people can lie confidently and never get caught, but a few are gifted with abilities to catch such people. The exciting question, asking how people are even capable of doing such things is explored in this research. In experiment-1 of the study, 40 students participated in an experiment where their skills to lie and catch liars was explored; an effort was made to relate them to their personalities. In experiment-2, 10 students were asked to lie while they were equipped with an EEG apparatus. Results confirmed that it is not necessary for a liar to be a lie spotter in all the cases and that the presence of a video teaching how to catch a liar could not affect the natural abilities of a person.
