Left Wing Extremism (LWE) has been a threat to the internal security from past five decades. Inspite of recent achievements by the security forces in the hinterland, a long way still has to be covered in eradication of the extremist violence. There are pockets in states like Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana and Bihar where extremist are still dominating. They have survived due to their changing tactics and Modus Operandi from time to time. Their movement can be broadly divided in three phases.- Reproduced
