The access to safe and legal abortion is a human right of women under reproductive and sexual rights and the lack of access to safe abortion techniques negates women's human right. The present paper focuses on the concern of unsafe abortion and associated mortality and morbidity among women in India, and presents a review of literature on the situational analysis of the access to safe abortion services, or in other words, unsafe abortion services for Indian women. The paper analyses the issue of unsafe abortion from the macro to micro level, focusing on the health service system determinants related to safe abortion. – Reproduced aAbortion, Unsafe abortion, Mortality, Morbidity, Reproductive rights, Sexual rights936885 aIASSI Quarterly: Contributions of Indian Social Science aHEALTH SERVICES cAR 00102ddc40709396865aIIPAbIIPAd2023-03-14h41(1& 2), Jan-Jun, 2022: p.121-145pAR128428r2023-03-14yAR
