Transforming bureaucracy: The practice of mission Karmayogi

The national progromme for civil services capacity building (Mission Karmayogi) has been lunched with on aim to professionalise the bureaucracy to enable it to meet the development aspirations of India in future. In an earlier essay. I had discussed the theoretical underpinnings of the mission Karmayogi. As theory and practice seldom concede on effort is required to chalk out a path of practice that is easy to understand and implement. It should be self-correcting to bring its outcomes in time with the theoretical underpinnings of the mission from time to time. This paper is an attempt towards that aim. Further the national capacity building commission and ndian Institute of Public Administration have done commendable work in the preceding year sot launch mission Karmayogi in the public organizations functioning under the central government. – Reproduced
