<br/><br/> This paper discusses the ways in which on endemic animal species of the Eastern Himalayas known as the Mithun (bos frontals) is entangled with the everyday practices of the local communities of the region. The assay is based on fieldwork in the state of Arunachal Pradesh  in the Northeast of India. The aim is to outline the themes of culture, consumption and conservations that become intrinsic to our discussion of the semi-domesticated bovine. – Reproduced
