Amongst the numerous challenges which has emerged in contemporary times, the challenge of climate change has been such that it has brought to the forefront the fault-lines in terms of the effects and cross-sectional repercussions on the public at large. Nations like India, across the world have been already reeling under immense pressures to bring out their citizens from the clutches of poverty, hunger, malnutrition, etc. In addition to these pre-existing issues, climate change is one such peculiar issue that it has a tendency to affect everyone without any due regards to the stature, class, creed, religion or identity. Climate justice tends to focus upon rehabilitation of a large section of masses who got displaced or had to migrate from their land to seek a better life for themselves. In this direction environmental governance becomes most significant. As such the present paper is an attempt to examine environmental governance in the context of Climate Justice which is one of the Human Rights as declared in the human rights charter. Also the paper would delve into the questions of adaptation to climate change, the mitigation methods and the mode in which environmental governance facilitates the flourishment and advancement of climate justice in India.- Reproduced
