The critical timeliness of the initiative has been emphasized upon, in the backdrop of an ominous rise of China, which believes in unilateral adventurism and has little respect for global norms. The paper seeks to underpin the far-reaching consequences of an ever deepening cooperation between the two countries, in light of the iCET initiative. We find that it has potential to transmute the whole calculus of Indo-U.S. relations for good, to unprecedented levels. Behind the paced realisation of the initiative, cold strategic compulsions emerge right at the top. It further attempts to establish, how the unravelling of discrete events around the world are continuously pushing the two sides, to focus on their obvious convergences, with sustained ownership and alacrity.
