The world has achieved a massive economic progress in the past few decades, along with population explosion and rapid urbanization/industrialization the effect of which are being realized across the world as global climate change with huge environmental impact. Though the climate change is a natural phenomenon, the release of several green house gases (GHGs) to the atmosphere through human activities has made a greater contribution to the global warming. The present paper is a review of Indian climate features/trend and their consequences across the country. Recent country-wide trends in some selected climatic parameters like rainfall and temperature have been depicted. Reproduced
