The telugu word ‘Golla Konda,’ which means a shepherd’s hills, is whee Golconda gets its name. the forts was forst ruled by the Kakatiyas, but in 1363 AD, it was taken over by the Bahamanis. SultanQuli, who founded the Qutb Shah Kingdom in 1518 AD, made it the capital following their overthrow. – Reproduuced
