Beyond ‘look East’, ‘act East’ and ‘Indo-Pacifica’ initiatives: Bridging the East-East divide by non-Western ideas

Beginning with the ‘look East’, then transforming into ‘act East’, and now adopting he vision of ‘Indo-Pacifica’, India’s highly pronounced engagement with neighboring east Asia not recued the intended policy outcomes. India launched it’s look East’ policy in 1991 to learn and benefit from the ‘East Asian miracle’ (François et al. 2009; Latham and Kawakatsu 2006), but could not become part of a super competitive Asian production network.
