NDIA and Eurasia in the post-cold war world: A “new great game” of the twenty-first century? - World Affairs: The Journal of International Issues - 28(3), Apr-Jun, 2024: p.104-123

India has cultural and economic connections with the region that go back thousands of years and enjoys a privileged relationships with the Russian Federation which has a preponderant position in Central Asia. Iran, another important player in that region, also has ancient and friendly ties with New Delhi and can provide access through the International North-South Transport Corridor. The five Eurasian states generally welcome opportunities for cooperation and partnership with India through bilateral and multilateral channels.
