<br/><br/> India has cultural and economic connections with the region that go back thousands of years and enjoys a privileged relationships with the Russian Federation which has a preponderant position in Central Asia. Iran, another important player in that region, also has ancient and friendly ties with New Delhi and can provide access through the International North-South Transport Corridor. The five Eurasian states generally welcome opportunities for cooperation and partnership with India through bilateral and multilateral channels.
