Domesticity remains a curious space where men still make rare, fleeting appearances, much like visitors in a foreign land. What emerges as a potential agent of change or a seeming “equaliser” in media portrayals of the domestic is technology in the form of sleek machines and smart home devices, with men depicted as “modern” and “tech-savvy” partners who welcome automation.
