Breaking free from geographical isolation: India’s eastward inclination and the North East

<br/><br/> Following its post-independence geographical isolation due to the partition, connectivity disruption pushed India’s once-prosperous North East into a prolonged development deficit. The “Look East” and “Act East” policies aimed to address this by connecting the region to East and Southeast Asia.
