Political Imaginaries of Peasants and Workers in Kashmir: A Study of the Kisan Mazdoor Conference - Economic & Political Weekly - 60(21), May 24, 2025: p.62-68

Intellectual history often focuses on prominent political figures and their ideas and conceptions, overshadowing alternative discourses. In South Asia, particularly, the intellectual narratives of Jammu and Kashmir in the 1940s and 1950s are largely associated with the National Conference, neglecting alternatives like the Kisan Mazdoor Conference. This paper seeks to position the kmc into this intellectual discourse by examining its ideological framework and vision for a just future. It contrasts the kmc’s manifesto with the National Conference’s Naya Kashmir manifesto, revealing significant differences and contributing to a broader understanding of the region’s political thought. - Reproduced
