Gurugram, one of the major cities in the NCR region, was reported as the most polluted city in the world in 2018. Air Pollution has hampered the basic living conditions and health of the residents. While in the prism of the constitutional aspect, a violation of Article 21 of the Indian Constitution could be observed. Urban poor in the city is more vulnerable to the deterioration of socio- economic conditions. This is because they are more likely to live and work in polluted locations but have less affordability to healthcare facilities. The Indian government has taken various actions to reduce air pollution in Gurugram, but these initiatives have not been sufficient to safeguard the urban poor. One of the most basic human rights is the right to life, which is crucial for urban poor people who are already disadvantaged.
