Coping with the Shocks of COVID-19 through Reverse Migration in India

<br/><br/> Many migrant workers undertook reverse migration as a coping strategy to ameliorate negative consequences, such as the loss of livelihood, food shortages and loss of shelter in urban India, in the wake of the lockdowns imposed to contain the COVID-19 pandemic. Examining the <br/>socio-economic, demographic and policy factors, it is found that family support, rural social institutions and government programmes were important for reverse migrants.
