Analysis of course plan in the context of the national education policy 2020 - Indian Journal of Training and Development - 53(1-4), Jan-Dec, 2023: p.22-31

In the context of the philosophy of outcome-based education and provisions of NEP 2020, institutions are encouraging teachers to prepare, implement, and improve the course plans to achieve the goals of quality education and develop 21st-century skills in the learners. In this study, 300 course plans prepared by the course teachers of different disciplines of undergraduate technical programmes of various courses are analysed on predefined criteria. These criteria are based on the scientific process of preparing the course plans to assess the quality. Strategies are suggested for formulating and implementing the course plans. An analytical approach is used to analyse the course plans and views and secondary information is used to suggest the strategies for formulating and implementing the course plans to improve the quality of education. It is inferred that the practice of formulating and implementing course plans is in vogue, however, the quality of course plans is poor on almost all criteria concerning requirements of provisions of NEP 2020, outcome-based education philosophy, and learnercentric approaches. Strategies for formulating and implementing the course plans are suggested. – Reproduced
