Drawing on theories of soft power, strategic narratives, and middle-power diplomacy, the article examines how India's peacemaking legacy can be reframed as a strategic asset- supporting its aspirations for global leadership. Simultaneously, the article critically interrogates the reputational, structural, and policy challenges that may inhibit India's ability to leverage peacemaking into lasting diplomatic capital.
