Recent developments in Indusind bank: Market reactions and regulatory initiatives

<br/><br/> IndusInd Bank’s recent financial developments, following the implementation of the Reserve Bank of India’s 2024 directive on investment portfolio transparency, brought to light certain accounting inconsistencies related to its internal derivative transactions. While external hedges were marked-to-market in line with regulatory expectations, internal swaps had not been treated similarly, which resulted in an overstated profitability. These disclosures led to a decline in investor confidence and prompted closer scrutiny of the bank’s governance and asset-reporting practices.
