Rural tourism represents the essence of inclusive growth, as it not only contiguities significantly to the national income but also fosters community development. It generates positive externalities such as the preservation of culture, heritages, rituals, cuisine, and biodiversity. Another important and steadily emerging branch of tourism in India is medical tourism. It is evident that rural areas have immense potential to attract tourists. An integrated approach to developing rural areas, making them easily accessible, can successfully to into this potential and enhance their contribution towards building a Viksit Bharat. – Reproduced
