Since 19th century women have played vital role in environmental conservation and development. They have participated in various environmental movements, namely; Chipko movements, Narmada Bacau Andolan, Silent Valley movements, environmental conservation efforts inferable and anti Coca cola movement in plachimada of Kerala. –Reproduced
