Service delivery and farmer’s satisfaction on implementation of mobile veterinary unit: A case study from Odisha.

Mobile Veterinary Unit (MVU) under the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying is implementing the "Livestock Health and Disease Control Programme" to improve the animal health by way of implementation of prophylactic vaccination programmes against various diseases of livestock and poultry, capacity building, disease surveillance and strengthening of veterinary infrastructure. The study was carried in one of the livestock populated block of Subarnapur district of Odisha State i.e., Dunguripali to assess the types of services delivered by MVU in the distantly located villages, as per the views of beneficiaries. The study came out with the conclusion that, MVU was not only concerned with supply driven services but also concerned towards many of the demand driven services like outbreak of disease, flood, fire and road accident etc.-Reproduced
