The constraints that these enterprises face and the implications for their performance are also examined. Falling demand stands out as the most severe constraint, followed by finance-related constraints, while labour, power, and raw material challenges are less prominent overall. Therefore, policy design must recognise the heterogeneity within the sector and the varied constraints faced by different groups of entrepreneurs. –Reproduced https://www.epw.in/journal/2026/16/indias-industrial-transformation/unorganised-manufacturing-enterprises-india.html aEconomic & Political Weekly cAR 00102ddc40709408428aIIPAbIIPAd2026-05-05h61(16), Apr 18, 2026: p.53-64pAR138770r2026-05-05yAR
