  <abstract>Using HCES 2022–24, the rapid expansion of India’s digital consumption across rural and urban households via online purchases and payments is shown, with rural catch-up but at lower levels. Digital consumption growth is led by non-food services (travel, utilities, clothing) while food remains stagnant. While higher-income and educated households dominate, SC/ST lag, indicating stratification requiring access, connectivity, digital literacy, inclusion policies.- Reproduced
