61(25), Jun 20, 2026: p.13-15 India’s disaster profile has undergone a significant transformation in the past decade due to the intensifying climate extremes, fragile Himalayan systems, rapid urbanisation, and emerging techno-industrial risks. The Disaster Management (Amendment) Act, 2025 seeks to address this changing risk landscape by strengthening institutional mechanisms, decentralised response systems, and disaster data infrastructures.
