<subfield code="a"> The study examines where the usage of labour saving home appliances in unpaid domestic work reduces the double burden of work facing the working women in the Malappuram district of Kerala. Primary data is used to understand the rural urban differences in working women’s time allocation and the extent of labour saving technology used in unpaid work. The findings reveal that urban women use labour saving devise slightly more intensively than rural women, but does not significantly reduce their time allocation on unpaid domestic and care work. They compromised the time used for leisure, social time, and personal care to perform both paid and unpaid housework. – Reproduced </subfield>
