Banerjee, D.N.

Social tensions viewed from postulates of science - 2002 - p.354-358. - Jul-Sep

The author draws an analogy between mechanics of social strifes and the well-known scientific theories of thermodynamics and entropy. The phenomenon of social conflict may appear to be simple yet it has complex and at times irreversible process behind it. He emphasises that sustainable measures and mechanism to ameliorate the tensions are also to be applied scientifically and with proper diagnosis of the factors that trigger the conflict. Gandhi's call for `Sarvodaya' was application of scientific principles to contain social discontent by ensuring progress and prosperity for all. - Reproduced.
