This paper examines the hypotheses concerning the relationship of scientific productivity with its predictor variables like the prestige of the college/university attended, type of scientific institution employed in, infrastructure facilities in that institution, research environment in the departments and reward system in institutional science. Apart from the positive correlations between the dependent variable and each of the independent variables, this study finds the type of scientific institution to be a crucial intermediary variable. - Reproduced.
