During the last two decades, there has been rapid growth of institutions of management education and training in India. The curriculum etc. in most cases is based on the western model. The major area of concern is how far the management education in India is contributing to organisational effectiveness. The article discussed the relevance of management education in India. Western management concepts and its implications for Indian organisations; further areas of research necessary in Indian context to make management education relevant are also suggested. - Reproduced.
