Ever increasing number of school dropouts, lack of capital foundation in education sector and an indifferent education administration at lower level are responsible for abysmal state of this sector. The demand for funds in the education is enormous and growing at a rapid pace year after year, yet there is hardly any capital budget and lot of facilities are yet to be provided at the ground level. The author emphasises the need for a system change in the state run education administration and mobilisation of private investment in education. - Reproduced.
