Trends of West Bengal's own revenue mobilisation during the last two decades - 2004 - p.867-904. - Jul-Sep

Persistent budgetary crisis, though in different degree, plaguing all major states during the post-liberalisation period is of great concern. Among the major states, West Bengal's fiscal imbalance has become the most acute due to the persistent mismatch between its own revenue mobilisation and revenue expenditure. This article intends to examine the cause of such low own resource mobilisation of the state during the last two decades. - Reproduced.
