  <abstract>In this paper Shri R.A. Rajiv, examines for phenomenon of street children, their definition, characteristics and handling by Government and civil society. The reasons for this phenomenon are also examined, particularly in the Indian context. Finally he focuses on one successful street children project being run by an NGO.
